This is my Annotated Bibliography Draft. There were many changes to be made before the revision was turned in. Below are my professors notes that allowed me to try for a higher grade. The notes also allowed me to progress in my writing and excel in future English classes.
𑱃
Moore, Richard. "Frost's Stopping by Woods on A Snowy Evening and Out, Out--, and Swift's Gulliver's Travels." The Explicator, vol. 58, no. 2, 2000, pp. 95-97. ProQuest, https://search-proquest-com.uaptc.idm.oclc.org/scholarly-journals/frosts-stopping-woods-on-snowy-evening-out-swifts/docview/216775869/se-2?accountid=39906.
𑱃 List sources in ABC order.
In this article, Moore is discussing the background of Robert Frost
and his work. He mentioned one of his previous poems, titled ‘Out Out’. The
topic of this article was mainly focused on the comparison of both ‘Stopping by
Woods on a Snowy Evening’ and ‘Out Out’. It was also focused on the
personification used to describe the feelings of the animals in both poems. This
is a credible source because I found it on the Pulaski Tech Database. I will
use this source in my essay to show different examples of Frosts poems.
𑱃 Use double commas.
Qiu,
Baohua. "He is "of Two Minds about it"-A Brief Comment on
Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening." Journal of Language
Teaching and Research, vol. 1, no. 2, 2010, pp. 145-147. ProQuest, https://search-proquest-com.uaptc.idm.oclc.org/scholarly-journals/he-is-two-minds-about-brief-comment-on-stopping/docview/741383230/se-2?accountid=39906.
In this article,
Qiu discuses the complete breakdown of Frosts poem ‘Stopping by Woods on a
Snowy Evening’. Qiu went over incredibly detailed parts of the poem and pointed
out the use of symbolism. He informs readers why Frost worded lines the way he
did. This source is credible because I found it on the Pulaski Tech Database. I
will use this source in my paper to explain the literary devices that are found
in Robert Frosts poem.
𑱃Frost's
Duban,
James. ""ETERNITY LOOKING THROUGH TIME": SARTOR RESARTUS AND
FROST'S "STOPPING BY WOODS ON A SNOWY EVENING"." Philosophy
and Literature, vol. 38, no. 2, 2014, pp. 573-577. ProQuest, https://search-proquest-com.uaptc.idm.oclc.org/scholarly-journals/eternity-looking-through-time-sartor-resartus/docview/1663653971/se-2?accountid=39906.
In
this article, Duban tries to connect the readers with the traveler that is in
Frost’s poem. The author seems to continuously tie back to the travelers
psychological reasoning for being in the woods and quoting him. Duban gives
very descriptive points about this poem. I believe this is a credible source
because I found it on the Pulaski Tech Database. I plan to use this source to
help explain to my audience what this poem is about.
"'Stopping
by the Woods on a Snowy Evening' is a Wonderful Work of Literature." Daily
Times, Jan 03, 2020. ProQuest, https://search-proquest-com.uaptc.idm.oclc.org/newspapers/stopping-woods-on-snowy-evening-is-wonderful-work/docview/2333783708/se-2?accountid=39906.
In
this article, they write about the different ways Frost allowed room for people
to make up their own assumptions about the poem. The author speaks about how
the horse and man feel mentally and gives plenty of information regarding the
literary devices used. This source is credible because it was on the Pulaski
Tech Database. I plan to use this source to explain how Frost portrayed the man
in the poem.
STOPPING
BY THE WOODS ON A SNOWY EVENING | International Journal of Research (IJR)
In this article, the author makes a point about how we are much like the traveler in the poem. The author explained the poem in a whole and even gave readers many examples of emotions that the horse and the traveler felt. This source is credible because it is on a scholarly journal website and not everybody has access to post on it. I will use this source to explain the emotions of the characters in the poem.
𑱃 I would say: This source is credible because it was published in a peer-reviewed academic journal.
